We built Matsya because we believe the future of work requires a new kind of operating system — one where AI is a first-class participant, not an afterthought.
The Problem
Today's productivity tools were designed for humans working alone or in teams. AI was bolted on later — a chat window here, an "enhance" button there. The fundamental architecture assumes humans do all the work.
This creates friction. To use AI effectively, you have to:
- Context-switch to a separate AI tool
- Re-explain your context every time
- Manually move AI outputs back into your workflow
- Coordinate between what AI does and what you do
The AI is powerful, but it's isolated. It can't see your tasks, your documents, your codebase, your team's discussions. Every interaction starts from zero.
Our Approach
Matsya is designed differently. AI isn't a feature — it's foundational:
- BRU (our AI agent) lives in your workspace. It sees your tasks, documents, and code. It has context.
- You delegate, not prompt. Assign a task to BRU like you would to a colleague. It figures out how to complete it.
- It learns continuously. Every interaction makes BRU better at understanding your organization.
- It integrates naturally. @mention BRU in a task comment. Chat with it in the console. It's part of the team.
Why "Matsya"
In Hindu mythology, Matsya is the fish avatar of Vishnu who saved humanity during a great flood by preserving knowledge and guiding them to safety.
We see AI as playing a similar role for organizations — preserving institutional knowledge, navigating complexity, and helping teams reach their potential.
What We're Building Toward
Our vision is a Business OS where:
- Knowledge compounds. Everything your organization learns is captured and accessible.
- Execution is effortless. Describe what you need, and it happens.
- Teams are amplified. Small teams achieve what large ones couldn't before.
- Work is meaningful. Humans focus on judgment and creativity, not routine tasks.
Why Now
The technology is finally ready. Large language models can understand context, reason about problems, and produce quality work. The missing piece was building the right architecture around them.
We're building that architecture. Matsya is our attempt to create the operating system for AI-first work.
Join Us
We're looking for organizations that want to be on the frontier of this transition. If you believe in AI-first work and want to help shape what it looks like, we'd love to talk.
The future of work is being written now. Let's write it together.
